From good to bad in 20 years

borat.jpg, originally uploaded by Flo Heiss.

The type on the Borat movie poster reminded me of Neville Brody’s Cabaret Voltaire Record Sleeves from the early 80s. They are probably the best sleeves ever designed and I was busy copying his style in college.

Obvioulsy the typography on the Borat poster is meant to be ironic/crap. Usually trends appear and dissapear within a quicker timespan than 20 years, but Neville’s designs stood the test of time. Until now.
